Lexi Miller hit two free throws with 3:56 remaining in the game to put the Lady Pointers within two, 26-24, but Siloam Springs outscored Van Buren 10-3 down the stretch to reach Friday's fifth-place game against Russellville in the Van Buren Junior High Tournament held at the Freshman Academy.

The Lady Panthers scored 45 percent of their points from the free-throw line as it shot 15 of 22. Van Buren was 7 of 15 from the line.

Jael Harris led the game with 16 points for Siloam Springs. Shelby Johnson added seven and Morgan Winesburg came off the bench to toss in six.

Miller led her squad with 12 points and seven rebounds. Both teams finished with 20 rebounds each and Maddux McDonald grabbed five for the Lady Pointers.

Both teams struggled to get the shots to fall into place and Siloam was able to construct a meager 9-4 lead with 3:08 remaining in the first half.

Emmalee Grebe, who finished with seven points, made a traditional three-point play to get Van Buren within two, 9-7, but Johnson responded for her squad to extend the lead by four. On Van Buren's next possession, Grebe pulled down a rebound and put it back up to cut into the lead, but Siloam finished the half going 4 of 4 from the line to lead 15-9 at the break.
