Lady Wolves sweep Heritage Hall

SHAWNEE – Ashley Kasterke racked up six aces and the Shawnee volleyball team swept Heritage Hall 25-23, 25-16, 25-16 Thursday night in a pink out game at Shawnee.

Shawnee rallied with a 10-1 run to start the third set capped on an ace by Kasterke and kept the advantage the rest of the way.

Heritage Hall closed the gap to as much as three but a 4-point rally kicked off on a kill by Maddy Hudgins and helped on two more aces by Kasterke gave the girls a 21-15 cushion.

The first set was a back and forth affair before being closed out on a Heritage Hall serve into the net to give Shawnee the win. The second set saw them trading points again, but a kill from Adrianna Climer sparked an 11-3 run capped on an ace from Olivia Barlean to give the Lady Wolves a 21-13 advantage. Shawnee took the win in that game on a serve that went long.

Kasterke led the Lady Wolves with six aces, 11 kills and 6 digs. Barlean had 15 digs, Brooklyn Fluke had seven kills and four digs and Katelynn Wissman and Hudgins had five kills each. Payton McNeil had 18 assists and Jaci Johnson had 14.
