The Pointers picked up their first 5A West Conference win and kept their '20-'21 road record perfect with a 66-48 win at Greenbrier on Friday.

Led by a trio of Seniors, the Pointers move to 7-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play with the win. Avery Salisbury finished with 20 points and Jose Estrada added 17. Salisbury and Estrada both hit five 3's on their way to the win. Brandon Miller added 11 points and led Van Buren in rebounding with 6 total boards.

Things didn't look good for the Pointers early as Greenbrier utilized their interior size and took an early 6 point lead and led throughout the first quarter. A pair of baskets by Salisbury and Miller put the Pointers up 2 at the end of the first and they never trailed from that point. Up 7 points at halftime, Van Buren stretched the lead to 25 with 3:03 to play. The Pointers were extremely efficient offensively shooting 58% for the game and 50% from the 3 pt. line.

Van Buren maintains a perfect 4-0 road record on the season and move into a 6-way tie for 2nd place in the conference at 1-1. Russellville has jumped out to an early lead with a 2-0 conference record.
