The Pointers and Lady Pointers head to Russellville later this week for the 5A West conference track meet.

The Lady Pointers have been led by performances from seniors Gracie Carter in the 100m hurdles, long jump, and triple jump and Chloe Cazzell in the 300m hurdles, long jump, and triple jump. Sophomore Aubree Wille has set personal bests this season in all three of her individual events (800m, 1600m, 3200m) including a dramatic 1st place finish in the 3200m run at this year's Pointer Relays. Freshman Kyla Jeffcoat looks to add points in the pole vault and freshman Gracie Johnson will compete in the shot put and discus. Both Jeffcoat and Johnson won their events at the ARVC Jr High conference meet last week.

Sophomore Tobey Sayaxomphou has performed well in the 300m hurdles as well as the long and triple jumps this season. Sophomore Shiloh Summers has provided points in the pole vault after joining the team late due to an individual state title he earned this year in wrestling.

The meet is scheduled for April 29th. Poor weather is forecasted for that day. If postponed, the meet will take place on Friday, April 30th. Follow @VBHSXCTRACK or @VBSDActivites on twitter for scheduling updates.
