The Van Buren Pointers improved to 4-1 on the season with a 55-17 home win over Clarksville on Tuesday night. Avenging their only loss on the season, the Pointers seized control early and never relented.

Junior Conner Myers led the way in scoring with 15 points and added 10 rebounds for his second double/double on the season. Sophomore forward, Glavine McDonald finished with 9 points and 12 rebounds and took a charge in the first Clarksville possession of the game.

Sophomores Jaxon Cazzell and Drew Brasuell had 11 and 9 points respectively. Cazzell added 8 rebounds while Brasuell totaled 5 assists on the night.

Holding a 27-6 halftime advantage the Pointers set a season and possible school record for allowing the least points in a half. Van Buren was up 28 points after 3 quarters and operated with a running clock for almost the entirety of the 4th quarter.

Springdale H.S. comes to town on Friday, Dec. 10 as the Pointers take on a former 6A West opponent for the first time this season. Former 6A West rival, Bentonville West, is also on the schedule to close out the first semester on Dec. 22nd.

Game times for Springdale will be 5:00 PM for JV and 6:30 PM for Varsity at Clair Bates Arena.
