The Van Buren Pointers closed the non-conference season with a 78-62 win over Southside H.S. (Ft. Smith) in the final round of the Foster Roofing Classic hosted by Southside H.S.

The Pointers started fast and never looked back. Van Buren led by 14 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime with a 20 point advantage.

Southside cut the lead to 13 at the end of the third quarter behind back to back 3's. The Pointers quickly extended the lead back to 20 and closed it out with a 16 pt. win.

The win ran the season record to 11-5 as the 5A West Conference season begins on 1.5.24 vs Greenbrier at home.

Jaxon Cazzell was chosen as an All-Tournament selection by the opposing coaches. The Pointers had 5 players in double figures.
