The team, consisting of Toray Wilford, Talen Jones, Micah Hendrickson and Andy Theplama broke Van Buren’s 4×100 meter record at the Fayetteville Bulldog Relays.
The team also broke the school’s 4×200-meter relay record just April 17 at the Pointer Relays at Van Buren.
Theplama discussed his coach’s excitement.
“He was excited,” Theplama said. “First time we did it, he was like ‘We have to take a picture y’all.’ We had to line up and take a picture. ‘This is amazing.’ He’s going on and on. ’24-year record, no one’s done that since 2001.’ I was expecting us to beat it, so I was low-key kinda chill about it.
