The next score would come after a Darren Mays forced fumble and recovery on the 6 yard line. Tristan Ray, who was selected as the scholar athlete of the game, took it in to make the score 14-0. From here the tides turned to Alma, who took a 22-14 lead into halftime.
In the 2nd half, the Pointers got back on the board with a Tristan Ray rushing TD from 4 yards out making it 21-22. Alma answered with a scoring drive to extend their lead to 29-21. Heading into the 4th quarter, Hayden Williford found Riggs on a screen and Austin did the rest with his legs going 53 yards to pay dirt making it 28-29. From here it was all Pointers as the Green D stepped up forcing a punt and behind strong runs from Hayden Christenberry, Van Buren scored again on a 4 yard pass from Williford to Toray Wilford taking the lead for good 34-29. The Pointer D caused three more turnovers, Brady Perkins INT, Jace Ponder caused fumble and the last being a scoop and score by Ponder as time expired.
