The Van Buren boys varsity basketball team kept their undefeated season alive with a thrilling 75–73 victory over Rogers on Tuesday night. In a game that came down to the final seconds, the Pointers showed grit, composure, and clutch play across the board.

Leading the way was Gabe Johnson (’26), who dominated on both ends with 27 points and 15 rebounds, shooting an efficient 10–12 from the field and 3–4 from three-point range.

Jude Jennings (’27) added 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists, knocking down all five of his free throws in key moments.

Brodie Myers (’26) contributed 11 points and 3 rebounds, and drew an absolutely massive charge with 11 seconds left to help seal the win.

Freshmen Kyree Dumas (’28) and Kannen Russell (’28) also made big impacts. Dumas posted 8 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and zero turnovers, while Russell added 7 points and 2 steals, providing a spark on both ends.

The victory moves Van Buren to 3–0 on the season as they continue to showcase depth, toughness, and poise in tight games.
