Bentonville snapped Van Buren's 10-game winning streak to open the season Tuesday afternoon. They did it on the road — at home.

Kam'ron Mays-Hunt singled home Caleb Lastovica with one out in the seventh to snap a 2-2 tie. Tyler Johnson's RBI double tied the game in the sixth. Because of wet conditions at Van Buren's Field Of Dreams Complex, both ends of the 7A-West doubleheader were played at Phillips Park in Bentonville.

The Pointers took a 2-1 lead in the second on Jeremiah Douglas' RBI single. Two Bentonville pitchers combined on a four-hitter.

The Tigers' Austin Garrett pitched three innings for the win
