The Lady Pointers trailed early in Tuesday’s 7A-West home game with Springdale before scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first. Van Buren went on to a 13-3 win in six innings.

Caroline Davis was 4-for-5 with an RBI and four runs scored. McKennah Sikes went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs, including a three-RBI home run in the third which put Van Buren (10-4, 2-1) up, 10-2.

Sikes – who pitched the first three innings and gave up one earned run on one hit while striking out five – now has seven homers and 31 RBIs on the season, which leads the team in both categories. She also leads the Lady Pointers in batting at .474, followed by Davis at .432.

For the second time, cold weather postponed Van Buren’s scheduled 7A-West game at Bentonville West, which had been rescheduled for Wednesday. The two teams will now play one another on May 5. Van Buren is at home Friday to face Springdale Har-Ber.
