The Cabot Panthers rallied to win the second set of Tuesday’s 6A state volleyball opener and the Van Buren Pointers weren’t able to recover.


Cabot’s 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-17 victory sends them into Wednesday’s 5 p.m. quarterfinal match with Southside.

After winning game two, Cabot scored four of the next five points to secure a crucial 25-22 win in the third sets.

For Van Buren, seniors Madelyn and Grace Doolittle finished with 17 and 15 kills, respectively.

Bri Ball added 31 assists, four blocks and five aces. Brock Moore had 30 digs.
