The Lady Pointers held the Lady Mavericks to just 14 points for the game as the contest was never in doubt with a final score of 45-14. Skylyr Coleman paced Van Buren with 9 points and Brooklyn Kannady added 8. The Lady Pointers travel to Rogers Wednesday night to face the Lady Mounties. The JV team will start the night at 4:30 followed by the varsity girls at 6:00.

On the men's side, the Pointers (1-0) opened up the season with a 54-39 win over the Southside Mavericks (0-2). Avery Salisbury led all scores with 27 points, Jose Estrada added 10, and Sophomore Conner Myers chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. They will now host Springdale Har-Ber Monday, November 30th at 7:00 at Clair Bates Arena.

Both teams will be in action together Friday, December 4th versus Farmington and Saturday, December 5th versus Cabot at Clare Bates Arena.
