The Pointer wrestling team had a huge challenge in front of them heading to Greenwood for a battle amongst two top 5 teams in Greenwood and Russellville. The Pointers took care of business by defeating Russellville 54-27 as Freshmen Dakota Fenwick and Braedyn Stewart pinned their opponents for an early 12-0 lead. Junior Shiloh Summers and Freshman Jadin Purdy made it 24-0. Senior Trevor Edelen became the All-Time Career Wins leader in VB wrestling history with a forfeit from Russellville and moved the team score to 30-0. Junior Taylor Smith, Freshman Alex Lopez, Junior Trent Nehf and Junior Grant King pinned their opponents as well to finish off Russellville.
The last match up of the evening was between #1 VB and #2 Greenwood. Fenwick, Summers, Purdy, Edelen, Smith, Lopez, Sophomore Kolton Sims, and King all got the wins to defeat Greenwood 46-36!
