Giannnis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks recently said in an interview, "... some days you're able to be successful, some days you're not. Some days it's your turn, some days it's not your turn. And that's what sport's about, you don't always win," and, man, does that sum up our weekend at the regional track meet.

The first day of the meet was rough; the weather was not in our favor, and that's not an excuse because we all competed in the same elements, but it didn't help our case whatsoever. We didn't run the times we had been running but still managed to advance to the finals in several events including the 4x100 relay, Natalie in the 100m dash, Kelyn in the 100m hurdles, and Brylee and Raelee in the 300m hurdles.

On day two, Charli started off the day with a 9th place finish in discus. Our region is loaded with talent, so to place in almost the top half of the group is tremendous. Ysa then tied for 4th and won a jump off to place 4th in pole vault, which again is an accomplishment. Kelyn didn't have her best day in high jump and ended up placing 6th, but she bounced right back and placed 3rd in the 100m hurdles. Our sprint relay also recovered from a bad first day and qualified for state by placing 2nd after being the 6th seed in the finals. In the 300 hurdles, Brylee placed 3rd and Raelee finished her senior season with a 6th place finish. Our senior leadership this season has been amazing; Charli, Raelee, and Natalie could have very easily decided to not do track this year, but they didn't, and they each had great success and contributed in big ways to the success of the program this year.

We are waiting on official results to see if our 3rd place finishers will be the wild cards at the state track meet; as soon as we know, I will update you!

We are so proud of our Lady Lion Track & Field team and everything they've accomplished so far this season!

Side note- Brylee broke the school record in the 300m hurdles (previously set in 1996 and held by Tara Wilkins) with her time of 47.42.
