The 2023-24 Pointers closed the season in the 2024 5A State Tournament with a 50-53 last second loss to eventual back to back state champion Pine Bluff H.S.
The loss dropped the Pointers to 23-8 on the season and registers the most wins for Van Buren since the 1980-81 season. Their 12-2 conference record and #2 seeding was the best since the 2015-16 season.
The 2024 State Tournament was the second straight appearance for the Pointers and their third appearance in 5 years.
A tremendous season by all counts. The Pointers will miss the five seniors who have given so much to the program: Glavine McDonald, Drew Brasuell, Jaxon Cazzell, Devin Mays and Jacob Dougan.
