GIRLS: Van Buren 47, FS Southside 17
Tied at 3-3, Van Buren (4-1) reeled off the final eight points of the first quarter and went on an 11-0 run in the second quarter to take command.
"It's not that we got different shots, we just made some," Van Buren Coach Kendall Ruff said. "We created shots off the defense. That's what we're pretty good at, we like to turn people over. We did a much better job at that in creating some points."
Hope Oden led the Lady Pointers with 12 points, including nine in the first half.
