Beau Beckner finished with 15 points to lead Van Buren and Presley Kindrix added 14 points and seven rebounds.
KJ Stewart had a game-high 10 rebounds as the Pointers dominated the boards 32-8. Caleb Salisbury pulled down six rebounds with five points. Bret Plunkett and Gavin Ball also finished with five points each.
Subiaco cut into Van Buren's lead 25-23 after Beau O'Neal hit a traditional three-point play with 5:22 remaining in the third quarter. The Trojans went cold for the duration of the quarter while Van Buren scored nine points off of five turnovers to take a 35-23 lead.
Ball led the charge with a pair of breakaway steals for layups during the spree. Ball finished with a game-high five steals for the contest.
The Pointers continued its charge into the fourth quarter as they built their largest lead of the night, 40-23 after a Drew Beckner scored a traditional three-point play and followed up with another basket off a turnover with 7:09 remaining in the game.
It was Van Buren's turn to struggle as Subiaco battled back and pulled within seven, 40-33, by the 4:27 mark, after a three-point play by Beau O'Neal, who finished with 11 points.
The Trojans did cut the Pointers' lead to six, 41-35, when James Taylor's shot sank, but Subiaco never to any closer the duration of the game.
Subiaco began the game with five three pointers and led 12-9 at the 1:52 mark in the first quarter.
Tyler Kemp, who led the game with 16 points (four three pointers) made the first three and Bryan Tencleve came off the bench to give the Trojans it's largest lead of the night.
Van Buren responded with a 9-0 run which lasted until 2:19 left in the first half to go up 18-12. Subiaco was held without a field goal for 7:42 of the first half, but closed out with a pair of baskets to begin the third quarter trailing by only two, 19-17.
MORRILTON 67, VAN BUREN 61
A late rally by the Pointers came up short as Morrilton took a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter and held on for the win on Saturday.
